Nandi Hills:
Nandi Hills is an ancient hill fortress built by Ganga Dynasty and later enlarged and strengthened by Tipu Sultan in southern India, in the Chikkaballapur district of Karnataka state. It is 10 km from Chickballapur town and approximately 60 km from Bengaluru. The hills are near the town Nandi.
In traditional belief, the hills are the origin of the Arkavathy river, Ponnaiyar River, Palar River, Papagni and Penna River.
Why special?
When I see a sky full of clouds, I always imagine and fantasize about what it would be like to be above them, looking down on them from above. When I learn about this place, it feels like a dream come true for me. And just thinking of seeing the sunrise there makes my heart skip a beat. As a result, I'm dying to go there right now.
Best time to visit?
For a chill weekend, you can actually visit Nandi Hills from June through February. Trekkers will have a good time trekking up the Nandi Hills trails during monsoon. As for those who wish to keep it safe, winter season is your time to shine. Summer might not really be the best time to visit as it does come with all the heat.
So get ready to pay a visit to this location. We'll do it after things have returned to normal.
