GAGANBAWDA - Let's Decode India #3

This week's Let's Decode India blog topic is Gaganbawada. I can sense the chill, the damp feeling that the place has since I first viewed this photo. So all I want to do now is talk about this location.

GAGANBAWADA:

Gaganbawada is a hill station located in the district of Kolhapur in Maharashtra. It is located 55km by road from Kolhapur. It is located in Sahyadri ranges (western ghats) at an altitude of 270ft.

WHY SPECIAL?

It is a very less explored but an extremely beautiful hill station. Gaganbawada offers you most scenic views of mighty mountain ranges of Western Ghats. The misty mountains and lush green hills of Gaganbawada are treat to the eyes. It's serene and calm surroundings are real delight.

Gaganbawada has rich historical and mythological background. It also has a gift of diverse biodiversity. The flora and fauna in the forests around Gaganbawada will mesmerise any nature lover.

What's not to miss: (Top 5)

#1. Karul Ghat

Karul Ghat descends towards Vaibbhavwadi and is 19 km in length. The road condition is pretty good. This route further goes up to Talere and meets NH17 (Mumbai-Goa highway).

#2. Bhuibawada Ghat

Bhuibawada Ghat is smaller compared to Karul and descends towards Bhuibawada Village. This ghat is of 11 km but road is narrow and not in good condition. Both The ghats have scenic views of valleys and hills.

These two ghats are one of the most scenic routes which originate from Gaganbawada and connect the Deccan Plateau to coastal region, Konkan, of Maharashtra. At the start of both the ghats near Gaganbawada there are view points from where one can enjoy the sun set.

#3. Lakhmapur Dam

On the way to Morjai from Gaganbawada one can also visit to a Lakhmapur Dam. This 1.6 TMC capacity dam is one of the largest water bodies in the area. Water is mainly used for irrigation of farms. It also has a small hydro-electricity generation unit.

#4. Gagangad Fort

1 km from Gaganbawada town lay ruins of Gagangad Fort. During British rule it was the headquarters of Gaganbawada tehsil, comprising around 243 square miles now known as Sidhudurg District. There are a small mosque and Bhavani temple in the fort. Gagangad was constructed by Raja Bhoj  (Shilahara Dynasty) in 1190.

#5. Morjai Temple and Plateau

This is a great place for all hiking enthusiasts. It generally takes 45 min to reach the top and once reached the view from that point is just awesome.

Right time to visit:

Each season the view will be different and magnificent. But Monsoon is best as hill stations looks best during monsoon.

Nandi Hills - Let's Decode India #2

Nandi Hills is the topic of this week's Let's Decode India blog. To put it in simple terms, Nandi Hills is just a paradise on Earth. This is a location that should not be missed by everyone. Nandi Hills: Nandi Hills  is an ancient hill fortress built by  Ganga Dynasty and later enlarged and strengthened by Tipu Sultan in southern India, in the  Chikkaballapur district   of  Karnataka   state. It is 10 km from Chickballapur town and approximately 60 km from Bengaluru . The hills are near the town Nandi. In traditional belief, the hills are the origin of the Arkavathy river, Ponnaiyar River, Palar River, Papagni and Penna River. Why special? When I see a sky full of clouds, I always imagine and fantasize about what it would be like to be above them, looking down on them from above. When I learn about this place, it feels like a dream come true for me. And just thinking of seeing the sunrise there makes my heart skip a beat. As a result, I'm dying to go there right now. Best

Lockdown Life

Due to the Covid situation many of us were forced to stay at home for our own safety. Most people feels like they are going through a worst phase of life and they are not able to do what they want. Ofcourse yes this is the worst phase but we can make this a good one.  HOW  I see this phase as an opportunity to each and everyone who are currently doing something not out of their interest but for the sake of doing it. Many of us just landed in jobs just to earn but where is the passion, that is the question we have to ask to ourselves. So use this lockdown time effectively. Even if your passion is to travel around the world, I think this the right time to save, plan and decide how to do it so that once everything is back to normalcy you can just fly high. HOW TO FIND  OUR PASSION Just take a break of 2-3 days from your actual life and do what you love the most, like watching movies series or drawing etc.. and clear your mind. Then Ask yourself the following What is Happiness to u? For wh

Covid 19

COVID 19 has been haunting us around for over a year. We initially assumed it was just a little issue that would pass quickly.  Today, however, the situation is different. The majority of things are out of our control, and we are receiving awful news every minute and seeing innocent people struggle everywhere. Most of us are getting emotionally disturbed and worried because we have never faced something like this before. There are a lot of things going through our heads right now. First and foremost, we are more concerned about our family than we are about ourselves. We make an effort to keep them safe and cautious. Then we're worried about our jobs, our friends, not going outside, our future, our lives, and so on. We feel that the days of planning something new and exploring are far gone. We see the same people every day and spend the majority of our time alone. Then there's the fact that we're worrying about Covid patients all over the world, individuals we don't ev

INTRODUCTION

INTRODUCTION I completed my Btech (ECE) in the year 2020 in a good college. But the placement is not good for ECE students. I always wanted to do something in my domain and don’t want to end up in software jobs as everyone do. So I started preparing for Gate exam which kind of ended in failure in 2020. So I thought why not give another try. Then I took a year break and started preparing again but I screwed up during exam again in 2021. I am just a girl who is going to turn 22 in few days. Currently I am unemployed. From today I am going to share blogs based on what’s going on in my life and the hindrances I am facing as a girl. I don’t know much about the outside world as I have spent my last 3 years on studies. I am basically zero on many things. So I decided to explore. I am just a beginner, so I will share all my experiences.
